Oh Dagmar, what a beautiful typical Sintra house you have!
Dagmar’s house is indeed a remodeled old Sintra house.. stone on the outside, beautiful wooden floor on the inside, high ceilings and all the comfort of a up to date house. The home is equipped with everything you need or might need in your trip, kitchen, dining room, library, you name it, it is there provided for you. Communication was spotless. Location outstanding. I absolutely recommend this house, you’ll have the privilege to feel like a local in this beautiful place. Thank you!

Outstanding hospitality
Dagmar personally picked us up from the train station, gave us a tour of her home, and lots of local tips. The home was marvelous: sparking clean with comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, and modern bathrooms. The location is great – close to the lovely historical section of Sintra. We didn’t spend much time in the home (there’s too much to do and see in Sintra!) but it would be great to have spent longer there. This home would also be ideal for larger groups and families.

Dagmar’s home in Sintra is truly fantastic.
It’s a beautifully renovated historic building, with sunshine in every room, plenty of space to relax, enjoy, eat good meals, with many intentional touches to make a nice space into a lovely home. And to top it off, it’s located perfectly for a quiet night’s sleep, but only a few minutes’ walk from the train, grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, and an easy stroll, or fast bus/taxi/drive to all of Sintra’s sights. I would have happily spent many more days here, and would seek it out for any future visits to the Lisbon area. Highly recommended! P.S. the book of local tips was much appreciated 🙂

Fantastic house to stay in fabulous Sintra
We had a lovely stay in this traditional house, with all the mod cons and all the sights of Sintra. The owner was delightful and helpful, and not intrusive at all, and although she lived in Lisbon she was happy to meet us late at the house and settle us in. The house was a great place to relax and waking up there was lovely with the balcony and the light, bright and airy rooms. When we go back to Sintra again (as I’m sure we will) this would be our first choice of somewhere to stay. Everything worked, and the house was exactly as it appears in the pictures.

Exceptional vacation rental
We were very delighted with the wonderful rental in Sintra. It was immaculate, close to the train station, and a beautiful place to stay. The owner thought of every detail to make it a lovely week. If you want the perfect place to stay in Sintra, this is it. You will not be disappointed. The rooms were well lighted and the large windows let in lots of natural light. Internet connection was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay at Dagmar & Richard’s wonderful Casa José Ricardo. The appliances, accommodation, ambiance were all first-rate. We especially liked being close to the mercado and grocery stores, plus so many castles, palaces and other great sights. Thank you for your hospitality.

We loved this big comfy house as the base for our adventures!
Dagmar and her husband were very kind and attentive to our needs. The house had many rooms to spread out in. The kitchen was big and a great place for family meals. We also enjoyed the grill and outdoor seating. Having 3 bathrooms was a huge plus! We loved having all the beach towels, toys and boogie boards for our beach days.
The house is located in a great quiet neighborhood. There is a market and small grocery store around the block and nearby restaurants. (That allowed us to take Sangria to go!) You can walk from the house to the old town in Sintra. We enjoyed hiking to the castles. I was pleasantly surprised by the diverse activities available from Sintra. Beach, castles, or a short trip to Lisbon – I loved it! This was a relaxing vacation and it was great to have a big house for my family friends to all come together and spend quality time.

Beautiful house, excellent location, close to everything.
This home was exactly what we were after, a traditional Portuguese home that also had all the comforts and mods and cons. The kitchen was fully equipped, bedrooms were massive , had the use of 2 dining areas , an outdoor area plus more. We had a car with us and had exclusive use of the driveway of the house to park over so we never got booked. We travelled with a 14 and 9 year old and they loved the house. They had their own large rooms and bathrooms. The house is well stocked with CD’s , DVD’s , board and card games to keep the kids happy and unlike other places we have stayed, the wi-fi was excellent, it was very fast and always available. This was important for us having to often check emails for business purposes etc..There is also cable TV providing all Portuguese channels and english channels.The house is in an excellent location in Estafania, Sintra. If you don’t have a car with you its fine, it is close to the train station and buses and the electric, original Sintra tram leaves from Estafania during summer on Fridays, Sat and Sundays to take you to Praia Das Macas every hour. The house is also a few minutes walk to the local market where you can by fresh fruit and veggies, breads, cheeses etc.. The beautiful, world heritage centre of Sintra is a lovely walk from the house. The owner of the property was extremely helpful and welcoming. She replied to all requests very quickly and was lovely to deal with from start to finish. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely return!

Great home in a great location
We had a wonderful time in this home! The home in person was even better and larger than the photos indicated .The home was very well kept and very spacious which came in handy if you have kids. The extra details like the videos, books, music, wi-fi, games for children and the welcoming bottle of wine were really nice touches. It was also a great base location for exploring Sintra, Lisbon and the surrounding beaches. I can guarantee anyone staying here that they will not be disappointed!
